After an entire year of denying you-know-who's return and trashing Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore every chance they got, Cornelius Fudge has finally got what's coming to him. He has been replaced as minister of magic by Rufus Scrimgeour, the former head of the Auror's Office. The murder of a convicted murderer (who was, by the way innocent) on ministry of magic premises was a serious blow to the former minister of magic's reputation. Let's all hope for the sake of the wizarding world that Scrimgeor can do better then fudge did.
Now that the entire wizarding world knows about he-who-must-not-be-named's return, all hell broke loose. Dementors were set loose on the muggle and magical world, and they're breeding. Murders are being reported almost daily and there has been a mass break out of azkaban, but that the ministry has covered up. It's absolute chaos, and the ministry seems more interested in making it look like they're doing anything rather then taking action and bringing you-know-who down. So it looks like it's up to the order of the phoenix once again.
It's not looking so good for the wizarding world right now. Hogwarts is the only safe place, but parents have been pulling their children out of Hogwarts, and back home! Like their homes are any safer then under the protection of Albus Dumbledore. The school has once again found itself in need of a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and who, you may ask has the headmaster chosen to fill this position? Why none other then the potions master himself, Severus Snape. Horace Slughorn has been taken out of retirement and has filled the position of potions master.
It's going to be an interesting year, there's no doubt about that. So who's side are you on anyway?
