Mission
The Los Angeles Leadership Academy prepares urban secondary students to succeed in college or on chosen career paths, to live fulfilling, self-directed lives, and to be effective leaders in creating a just, democratic, and humane world. An integrated curriculum, project-based instruction, and performance-based assessment challenge students to think critically and creatively. Supportive relationships between students, staff and families promote a community of well-rounded learners through attention to students’ individual needs and interests. Students develop leadership by taking action on important social issues in a process of reflection, research, skill development, and community partnership.
Beverly Hills Living
You’ve got your daddy’s money and the credit card to make it easily spend able. You live in one of the richest neighborhoods in North America and you have the world at your fingertips. This is all because you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Anything you want is there at your fingertips for you. Most often, you don’t even have to ask. And if you get in trouble at school or with the cops for under age drinking or anything like that, all you have to do is bat your eyelashes at your daddy and he’ll bail you out. Underage drinking is quite common among these teens and something done on quite a regular basis. Most of the cops turn a blind eye to their behavior, knowing daddy’s money gets them out of anything.
All For One
But we all know if you’re going to make it through the school year, daddy’s money is great, but you’re never going to get through without a little help from your friends. They’re the ones who are going to stand by you through thick and thin. They’re the ones who are going to hold you when you cry. They’re the ones who will be with you, do or die. Your friends are your rock. They stand beside you when you break the law, they keep it a secret so the coppers don’t throw the book at you, and they hold your hair up when you’re throwing up after drinking to much. No matter what, your friends are always going to be there for you and you’re going to have their back too. It’s something you’ve always done and will continue to do.
